Frequently Asked Questions:

Can my student transfer to a school that is not our neighborhood school?
See the PPS high school information page for more information about high school transfers.

What is a Shadow Day?

Shadow Days are days when high schools invite 8th graders to spend part of a school day there. Sometimes you will be with students, sometimes you will be with high school staff, like counselors. Sometimes you visit classes there. The goal is to learn information to help you decide if the school is a good fit for you.

When are shadow days and how do I set up a time to shadow?

Each school has different dates when they have their Shadow Days. Call the school you want to visit to find out when they have their Shadow Days. Call the high school and tell them you want to Shadow. Talk to Mr. Harkness for more information.
